Michael Osborn - VP / Director of Wine
Favorite wine region: Pacific Northwest - from Oregon Pinot Noir to Walla Walla Merlot - it's in my blood.
Best wine memory: I have so many fond memories from touring wine regions, to everyday occasions with wine. To pick one, I guess it would have to be recent. Last Fall, I toured the Rhone Valley. During one afternoon, the Perrin Family of Chateau de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf du Pape hosted me and friends traveling from Washington, D.C., New York and Tallahassee, Florida. Learning of their passion, for decades, for organic farming underscored the adage that "healthy wine starts with healthy vines."
My favorite club to give: I favor Grand Tour for the variety of wines and the opportunity to taste wines from new regions and to learn about specific wines indigenous to these areas. It is the combination of both the learning aspect and the introduction to eye-opening wines that excite me. |

Favorite wine region: Italy. There is so much diversity in wine within Italy and it gets better every day. Wine is made all over the country. From the crisp whites of Alto Adige near the Austrian border, to round fruity wines from Sicily and then Tuscany and all the others in between- there really is something for everyone. Outside of food and wine, it’s also a beautiful country to visit!
Best wine memory: My first trip to any wine country was to Tuscany. I had the chance to hand pick grapes, watch them being crushed, meet the family who owned the winery and enjoy an unforgettable lunch on the property overlooking the hills and vineyards of Tuscany. After that day, I knew wine would forever be a big part of my life.
My favorite club to give: Grand Tour. I love this club because you get to taste wines from all of the major wine regions and really tour the wine world. I know how difficult and intimidating it can be when you go into a wine shop and want to try new regions but you don't know any of the wineries. Well, this club does the picking for you. It’s an easy way to enjoy wines that depict the essence of a particular region so it’s both fun and educational. |

Wendy Stanford - Product Manager
Favorite wine region: Hard to say! New Zealand is one. I just love the yummy, citrusy Sauvignon Blancs NZ is so famous for. They are also rapidly gaining attention for world class Pinot Noir. I also love South African wines. Steely Sauvignon Blanc and smoky Pinotage are so unique from this region. But a recent trip to Oregon wine country has put it close to the top too. You just can't beat the delicious, affordable Pinot Noir grown here. It is on the same latitude as Burgundy, so it makes sense that the grape does so well.
Best wine memory: I loved being in the cellar at the winery where I worked on weekends for a few summers. The experience assisting the winemaker and staff with harvest by hand-sorting grapes, testing brix levels, and watching the temperature of the juice as the fermentation process took place was priceless!
My favorite club to give: Build Your Cellar. These wines are chosen with great care and are of extremely high quality. These are often wines not readily available in many areas, so it's a great opportunity to expand your palate and learn about amazing wines from all over the world. |
