winemaker's notes:

This highly treasured Shiraz takes its name from the vitner's pet Kookaburra bird. The wine has an amazing dark reddish-purple color with added fragrance and flower perfume by the Viognier. Red currant, blueberry, herbs and cedar flavors tail into an incredible finish. In keeping true to their winemaking, d’Arenberg still basket crushes all of their grapes.

Ordered the Laughing Magpie off a menu at the very nice restaurant and was very surprised at the smooth taste and finish of the wine. Very subtle aroma of fruit and herbs. Great bottle of wine for very reasonable wine. Recommend with a light pasta dish or grilled chicken. Immediately went out and bought a case of the wine.
